Sweets Blank Gems 5-0 in Series Opener

Walla Walla, WA: The Gems could only muster four hits on the night and dropped a 5-0 decision to Walla Walla in the opener of a three game series at Borleske Stadium in Walla Walla, WA on Friday night.

Tyler Johnson (Lane Community College) took his first loss of the year for Klamath Falls and Cody Poteet (University of California Los Angeles) struck out 11 Gems and earned a victory in his first appearance of the year for Walla Walla. The Sweets improve to 15-10, while the Gems fall to 12-14 overall with the loss.

Gems next home game is Monday, July 8th vs. the Medford Rogues. Monday's promotion: Kids get in free (Sponsored by Kla-Mo-Ya Casino). Each Monday night game during the 2013 Gems home season will be Kids Night.
