Sweets Announce 2015 Schedule

WALLA WALLA, Wa. - The West Coast League is ringing in the new year with the announcement today of the 2015 schedule. The Walla Walla Sweets will open their sixth season of baseball on Friday, June 5 at 7:05 P.M. at Borleske Stadium against the Medford Rogues. The 2015 season of Sweets baseball is presented by Columbia Rural Electric Association. Start times for regular season games will be 7:05 P.M. with Sunday games starting at 5:05 P.M.

The Sweets are scheduled to play a total of 57 games during the 2015 season, with 30 home games and 27 on the road. This is a slight change for the Sweets who have played 33 regular season home games each of the last four seasons. Of the 30 regular season home games, 27 will be against league opponents and three against non-league teams. The schedule will feature five weekend series for the Sweets, including the final regular season home series August 7, 8, and 9 against the Kelowna Falcons.

"We decided to reduce the number of regular season home games based on feedback from fans," said Sweets general manager Katie Biagi. "We're excited to bring 30 fun-filled and exciting home games to fans as we welcome them through the gates in 2015."

The Sweets will play at home on July 2 this season, and it will be Military Appreciation Night honoring those who serve our country and fans will enjoy a post-game fireworks show. All those in full military dress or those who present a valid military ID will receive free admission to the game.

Popular promotions such as Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night, presented by Providence St. Mary, $2 Tuesday, Theme Nights presented by Basel Cellars, Kids Day presented by Community Bank, and Family Feast Sundays presented by NAPA will be back in 2015. The Sweets will also feature five premium giveaway nights and fireworks shows for the upcoming season.
