West Coast League Announces 2015 Schedule

Salem, OR - The West Coast League has announced the release of the 2015 game schedule.
The upcoming season marks the 11th season of WCL baseball in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The league features the best collegiate baseball players in North America across 12 markets in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia.Opening Day will be Friday, June 5, 2015 and will be highlighted by the league champion Bellingham Bells welcoming West Division rival Kitsap BlueJackets to a newly renovated Joe Martin Field.
"We are excited to get this schedule to market," said WCL president Dennis Koho. "Last season more than 400,000 fans came through the gates to see our wonderful players, and we look forward to what we expect will be a record-setting season in 2015. We have 12 great markets that we are excited to be a part of this coming year."
A re-match of the 2014 WCL Championship Series will take place in Corvallis, OR June 9-11, as the Knights will welcome the Bells to Goss Stadium. Other key matchups early in the season include an opening weekend of Canadian baseball as the Kelowna Falcons travel to Victoria to take on the HarbourCats; the Yakima Valley Pippins, fresh off an expansion year and a division title, taking on the Walla Walla Sweets at home June 13-15 (the teams share an ownership team), and the Bend Elks and Knights continue their decade-long rivalry with a big opening weekend series at Vince Genna Stadium.
The league schedule features 54 league games, with each team playing a weighted schedule against division rivals. The WCL will take pause Sunday, July 19 and Monday, July 20, as team and league officials, players and coaches will travel to Bellingham for the 2015 All-Star Game. The regular season will conclude Sunday, August 9. The WCL Playoffs - a four-team tournament to determine the league champion - will begin Tuesday, August 11.
