SWB Yankees Move Sunday Game to Friday Double Header

August 25, 2011 - International League (IL1)
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees News Release

Moosic, PA - Sunday's game between the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and the Pawtucket Red Sox has been moved and will be played as part of a double header at PNC Field on Friday, August 26th beginning at 5:35 PM. The cancelation and movement of Sunday's game has been necessitated by the potential for severe weather in the eastern part of the United States due to Hurricane Irene.

"The Yankees are following the lead of the International League, Major League Baseball and the National Weather Service in looking at the best options for the safety of our fans and our players," said SWB Yankees President Kristen Rose. "The hope would be the severe weather will miss northeast Pennsylvania but due to the potential for heavy rain and wind, moving our Sunday game is the best option for everyone involved."

The Yankees game on Friday, August 26th vs. Pawtucket is sold out but tickets still remain for the game on Saturday, August 27th. In addition to the postgame fireworks, Saturday's game also features an on field performance by the Purina Incredible Dog Team during the game and an SWB Yankees Jersey Bag Giveaway to the first 2,000 fans through the front gates.

Fans holding tickets for the August 28th game against the Pawtucket Red Sox, may exchange them at the PNC Field Box Office for a ticket of equal or lesser value for any regular season home game remaining during the 2011 season. All ticket exchanges are subject to availability.

The PNC Field Box Office is open 10-5 M-F and from 10:00 a.m. on game days through the seventh inning.
