Saskatchewan Rush News Release
Atlanta, GA - Saturday night (Apr.8), the Saskatchewan Rush dropped a 13-9 decision to the Georgia Swarm at GAS South Arena.
The home team dominated the first quarter jumping out to a 3-0 lead before Austin Madronic would get Saskatchewan on the board. Shayne Jackson had a pair of goals for Georgia to make it 6-1 after 15 minutes of play.
In the second quarter, Robert Church single handedly mounted a comeback with a natural hat trick and Rhys Duch was able to score his second in green, but the Swarm led 8-5 at the break.
Georgia would add three more in the third, while Marty Dinsdale, who returned from injury, responded with one of his own to make it 11-6 with 15 minutes to go.
Saskatchewan outscored Georgia 3-2 in the fourth quarter thanks to markers from Madronic, Church and Ryan Keenan, but the Swarm were too much to handle at home and walked away with the 13-9 win.
Alex Buque stopped 37 shots in the loss. Rookie Brett Dobson made 44 saves for the win.
Next up, the 6-9 Saskatchewan Rush host the 7-8 Halifax Thunderbirds for Retro Night on Saturday, April 15th.
