Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

LAST WEEK'S RECAP

Overall Picture: The Greenville Swamp Rabbits (3-1-0), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, broke out the brooms last weekend and enjoyed a three-game sweep of division rivals South Carolina and Florida. By taking all six points, the Swamp Rabbits vaulted themselves into a tie for second place in the South Division.

Greenville celebrated its home opener on Friday with a thrilling 5-3 victory over South Carolina at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Each of the team's five goals were scored by a different skater, while rookie netminder P.J. Musico made 25 saves for the victory in his pro debut. It was also the 150th win of head coach Brian Gratz's career.

24 hours later, the Swamp Rabbits clawed back from a pair of one-goal deficits on the road to earn an overtime victory against the Stingrays in North Charleston. Captain Bretton Cameron netted two of Greenville's three goals, including the game-winner just 1:55 into the extra session, to lift the Swamp Rabbits to a 3-2 final. Former South Carolina goaltender Adam Morrison made 24 saves in his Greenville debut and forward Brian Hart also notched his first pro goal.

The Swamp Rabbits completed the three-game sweep on Sunday with another come-from-behind victory. Trailing 2-0 after the opening frame, Josh Nicholls scored twice and Emerson Clark punched in the game-winner late in the third period for a 3-2 win against the Florida Everblades at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Between the pipes, Morrison stopped 24 shots for his ninth consecutive victory dating back to February 7 of last season.
