KEENE, N.H. - The Keene Swamp Bats fell to the Mystic Schooners Friday night, 9-0 at Alumni Field.

With the loss, the Swamp Bats fall to 15-18 on the year while the Schooners improve their record to 19-15 with the win.

The Schooners got to a fast start scoring three runs in the top of the first inning on a pair of home runs. Toby Handley (Stony Brook) led off the ball game with a solo home run to left field and then a two run shot by Nick Ruppert (Dartmouth) made it 3-0 Mystic.

Things didn't get better at all in the second inning for Swamp Bats starter Alex Robinson (Maryland) who gave up three more runs on a three run bomb by Dan Hoy (Princeton) made it 6-0 in favor of the Schooners.

Robinson's final line was one that he would like to forget. He gave up six runs (all earned) on nine hits, walked one and struck out two in just 1 2/3 innings pitched. He was charged with the loss and falls to 1-1 on the year.

Mystic starter Mike Concato (Dartmouth) was able to shut down the Keene bats as he went six shutout innings, gave up only five hits, two walks and struck out six on 96 pitches. He was credited with the win improving his record to 2-0 on the year.

The Schooners added to their lead in the eighth inning when Handley hit an RBI single to drive in Lou Ianotti (Quinnipiac) to make it 8-0 Mystic. Aaron Hill (UConn) added two more runs in the top of the ninth inning with a two-run home run to make it 9-0 Schooners. It was the fourth home run of the game for Mystic.

The Swamp Bats will try to get back on the winning track tomorrow as they host the Danbury Westerners. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30.
