Modesto, CA. - Evan White led the Modesto Nuts offensive charge to a 12-5 win over the Visalia Rawhide on Thursday night at John Thurman Field.
Evan White reached in all five plate appearances for the Nuts (51-72; 21-32) to end a four-game losing streak.
White gave the Nuts the lead twice. He tripled home a run in the bottom of the first before scoring on Nick Zammarelli's RBI double. Zammarelli drove in three runs.
The Rawhide (61-62; 24-29) came back to take the lead in the third when Marcus Wilson connected on a three-run homer against Nuts starter Nick Wells (W, 5-4).
Jack Larsen tied the game in the fourth against Rawhide starter Cole Stapler (L, 0-5) when he smacked a two-run homer. In the fifth, Luis Liberato led the inning off with a double. Evan White gave the Nuts the lead for good when he doubled home Liberato.
Stapler was done after five innings of work allowing five runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and no walks.
Wells worked five innings while striking out seven in his start for the Nuts. Wells surrendered four runs on five hits with just one walk.
White added another RBI double in the sixth inning. The Nuts opened up the game with five runs in the eighth inning.
