Susquehanna Bank Park Now BB&T Ballpark

BB&T, Williamsport Mayor Gabriel J. Campana and the Williamsport Crosscutters have jointly announced that BB&T will now assume the naming rights agreement of Historic Bowman Field. The stadium is now officially known as "BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field".

In late 2013, Susquehanna Bank and The City of Williamsport approved a 5-year naming rights agreement for Bowman Field, the home of the Williamsport Crosscutters, a short-season affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The agreement covers the 2014-2018 seasons.

The name change came about due to BB&T's acquisition of Susquehanna Bank earlier this year. "The City of Williamsport is pleased to partner with BB&T as the corporate naming rights partner of our historic ballpark," stated Williamsport's Mayor Campana. "It is my hope to continue a strong relationship with them for years to come."

Speaking about the agreement, Michael Hough, BB&T president of Western Maryland and Pennsylvania remarked, "Minor league baseball is the epitome of affordable, family friendly entertainment. The Crosscutters do a great job on the field and in the community. We share the same goal of making our communities better places to live and work."

In addition to the new signs that are slated to appear on the stadium in the coming weeks, BB&T will also be providing an LED message board as part of the signage located at the entrance to the stadium on Fourth St.

Peter Freund, Crosscutters Principal Owner added, "The Crosscutters organization is excited to work with BB&T and the City of Williamsport to help ensure the long-tern viability of this historic stadium for professional baseball."

The Crosscutters 2016 season opens, June 17 at BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.
