
Suspended Game vs. Chicago to Resume on June 27

GARY, Ind. - Thursday's suspended game between Chicago and Gary in the finale of the doubleheader will resume on Wednesday, June 27th at 5:30 p.m. in the top of the 11th with the score tied, 5-5. The 'Cats won game one, 7-6, for their season-high fifth consecutive victory and handed the Dogs their season-high 10th straight defeat.
Gary jumped out to a 4-0 lead in game two after having five straight baserunners reach with one out in the first. D.K. Carey put the RailCats in front by three with a bases-clearing double to right-center before Andy Paz increased the lead to four with an RBI single to right.
Chicago cut the Gary lead in half with two runs in the second. Matt Telesco got the Dogs on the board with an RBI double to right-center before Ryan Gyrion brought home Michael Baca from third with an RBI groundout to second.
The Dogs tied the game at 4-4 with two more runs in the fourth. Telesco delivered his second RBI with an RBI double to right-center before Gyrion followed with his second RBI on an RBI single to center.
Gary regained the lead with a run in the fifth. Cole Fabio drew a leadoff walk before a single from Alex Crosby to right gave the 'Cats runners on the corners. Two batters later, Mitch Glasser laid down an RBI bunt single up the first base line, scoring Fabio.
Chicago forced extras with another run in the seventh. Jonathan Maroney reached on a one-out single to center before Christian Arroyo followed with an RBI triple to right, plating Maroney all the way from first. The two teams failed to score in the next three innings, resulting in the game being suspended due to league curfew.
The RailCats resume their 10-game homestand with the first of three games vs. the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Friday night at 7:10 p.m. RailCats RHP Daniel Minor (2-0, 4.20) opposes RedHawks LHP Will Solomon (1-1, 3.27) in the first matchup of the year between the two teams. Friday's game is Princess and Pirates Night and a Fifth Third Bank Fireworks Friday and a Valparaiso Community Night, presented by Fifth Third Bank.
