Wichita 1, Kansas City 0

The Kansas City T-Bones out-hit the Wichita Wingnuts 9-6 in Friday night's matchup but the Winguts kept the T-Bones off the board and collected a 1-0 win.

The game's only run came in the top of the second inning as 3B Tony Thomas belted a solo home run, his fourth of the season. Thomas was one of five Wingnuts to have a hit in the game. LF Logan Trowbridge was the only Wingnut to have more than one hit as he went 2-for-4. For the T-Bones, 2B Dylan Tice and RF Todd Cunningham each went 2-for-4 while five other T-Bones each added one hit.

Starting pitcher Corbin Osburn was tabbed as the winner for his six innings on the mound where he gave up six hits and struck out one batter. Reliever Daniel Tillman threw the ninth and earned the save.

Gary SouthShore 6, Fargo-Moorhead 4

The Gary SouthShore RailCats turned five hits into six runs and held off the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 6-4.

Gary struck first in the bottom of the first inning when RF Colin Willis' sacrifice fly plated SS Randy Santiesteban. The RedHawks made their way on to the scoreboard in the second with RBI base hits from C Charlie Valerio and SS Leobaldo Pina but the RailCats took the lead back in the bottom of the frame. CF D.K. Carey tripled to plate two runs and then scored when 1B Alex Crosby bounced out in the next at-bat.

Valerio hit a two-run home run in the top of the fourth but the RailCats had an answer again in the bottom of the frame; this time Santiesteban tripled to score both Crosby and Carey. While Gary SouthShore had just five hits, Fargo-Moorhead had four batters each have two this including Valerio and Pina.

Winnipeg 6, Chicago 3

With the help of a four-run third inning, the Winnipeg Goldeyes topped the Chicago Dogs 6-3.

LF Grant Heyman (2-for-5) started things off for the Goldeyes with a solo home run in the second at-bat of the game. It was Heyman's fourth homer of the young season. In the third, Heyman scored again, this time after C Kevin Garcia drew a bases-loaded walk. In the next at-bat, 3B Josh Mazzola (2-for-5) doubled to scored two runs and he scored later in the inning as DH Jordan Ebert doubled. 1B Reynaldo Rodriguez (2-for-3) added the Goldeyes' final run with a single that scored 2B Matt McCann in the sixth.

For the Dogs, RF Jonathan Maroney hit his first home run of the year and was one of two Chicago batters to go 2-for-4, 2B Trey Vavra was the other.

St. Paul 4, Cleburne 1

The St. Paul Saints held the Cleburne Railroaders to just one run on six hits as they improved to 10-4 on the year with a 4-1 win.

St. Paul edged in front in the top of the fourth inning when SS Noah Perio Jr. scored on an error and 2B Josh Allen doubled later in the frame to push two more unearned runs across. The Railroaders' only run came in the bottom of the sixth after DH Angelo Gumbs (2-for-4) bounced into a double play that allowed LF Trevor Sealy (2-for-3) to score. Allen added an extra insurance run for the Saints in the top of the ninth, scoring as 1B Brady Shoemaker (2-for-4) doubled.

On the bump, starting pitcher Vinny Nittoli earned the win for tossing six innings and allowing the one run on five hits while striking out eight batters. Reliever Tom Wilhelmsen earned his third save of the season for working a perfect ninth.

Sioux Falls 10, Lincoln 7 (Rain-shortened - 7 Innings)

The rain shortened Friday's game between the Sioux Falls Canaries and the Lincoln Saltdogs but there was still plenty of action in the seven innings that took place. Ultimately, Sioux Falls walked away with a 10-7 win.

The two teams combined for 19 hits and 13 of the 18 players that went to the plate recorded at least oe hit. For the Canaries, CF Chris Grayson went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and his fourth home run of the season while and both LF Mike Hart and 2B Tyler Wolfe each also had a pair of hits. 1B Chris Jacobs added three RBIs with a roundtripper in the fourth. For Lincoln, 3B Christian Ibarra scored three times and both 1B Nathaniel Maggio and DH Curt Smith each had three hits.

Smith also had three RBI for the Saltdogs.

Sioux City 9, Texas 4

The Sioux City Explorers scored three runs in three separate innings as they moved past the Texas AirHogs 9-4.

The first three-run outburst came in the top of the second inning when 3B Jay Baum (3-for-5) and OF Luis Durango (3-for-5) hit RBI singles and C Dylan Kelly added an RBI triple. Sioux City added three more runs in the sixth thanks to a double from Baum, a single from 1B/LF Daniel Jackson and another RBI single from Durango. Baum capped off his three RBI day with another in the seventh and DH Dexture McCall and Kelly also pushed runs across.

For the AirHogs, DH Dillon Thomas and 3B Stewart Ijames each went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
