Wausau Woodchucks News Release
Woodchuck outfielder Danny Susdorf's stunning bare-handed catch in Saturday's double-header against the Eau Claire Express was named the top play of the weekend on ESPN's Sportscenter.
The play also appeared on ESPN's SportsNation Monday.
The play can be seen on www.livestream.com/eauclaireexpress, via Northwoodsleague TV, at the 1:49:00 minute mark.
With two outs and runners on the corners in a 1-1 tie, Ryan Iverson induced Nick Addison into a lazy popup into foul territory, where Susdorf charged in and grabbed the ball with his glove, only to roll and have the ball pop out following his dive. The ball then rolled up Susdorf's body, while laying on the ground, before he grabbed the ball with his right hand as it fell to the ground, ending the scoring threat as the 'Chucks went on to win 5-1 in the seven inning double-header.
