Surkamp Traded to Dodgers Organization

Earlier tonight, the Chicago White Sox announced a trade between the Los Angeles Dodgers, which involved Charlotte Knights left-handed pitcher Eric Surkamp. The White Sox received RHP Blake Smith in exchange. Surkamp appeared in 11 games with the Knights this season and posted a 3-0 record with one save and a 2.81 ERA (25.2 IP, 19 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 9 BB, 30 SO). A product of N.C. State University, Surkamp posted a 4-5 record with a 4.69 ERA in 18 games (11 starts) for the Knights last season.
