Biloxi, MS - The Surge avenged a 3-2 loss against the IceGators in Louisiana by doubling up the Gators 6-3 tonight in front of 2,244 fans at the Power Plant. Rob Campbell and Nick Guran scored twice and five other Surge players had multiple points as the Surge kept pace with Louisiana and Pensacola in the SPHL standings.

Guran's first goal, scored just 1:39 into the third period, gave the Surge a 4-0 lead. The power play tally was Guran's tenth of the year. The McHenry, IL native finished with a game high three points. Campbell started the scoring at 18:57 of the first period, depositing a loose puck over the top of a sprawled out Dan Earles. Shawn Skelly's 15th goal of the year came at 7:00 after Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn centered a pass from the left corner. Campbell would add his 14th ten and a half minutes later, banging in a rebound from Nick Klaren.

Louisiana responded with three unanswered goals within and 8 minute span, but Guran's second of the night would restore a two goal lead and Tyler Ruel would seal it with an empty net goal at 18:38. Nick Eno took the win for the Surge, who sit just one point behind Louisiana and two behind Pensacola in the standings. Klaren, Versteeg-Lytwyn, Jeff Grant and Adam Stuart all had two assists on the night and Scott Jenks added one.

The Surge face off for another matinee rematch with the Mississippi RIverKings tomorrow and it's Pink in the Rink Night at the Power Plant. The puck drops at 3:05 and there will be a postgame event and jersey auction to benefit Pink Heart Funds at the Coast Club inside Beau Rivage Resirt and Casino. Tickets are available at the Surge office or the Coast Coliseum box office.
