
Surge beat Columbus

Goaltender Nick Eno turned aside 26 shots as the Mississippi Surge registered its third shutout of the season, defeating the Columbus Cottonmouths 2-0 Saturday night in Columbus.
For Eno, it is also his third shutout of the season and comes in his first action since December 30th. Eno had been on recall to two different teams in the ECHL, and was making his first appearance since returning to the Surge on January 29th.
A pair of Matts handled the scoring duties for the Surge. Defenseman Matt Ridley struck with a shorthanded goal at 6:37 of the second period. Matt Kinnunen continued his recent hot play as well, scoring with just 23 seconds left in the second period. Kinnunen has registered 15 points on four goals and 11 assists, and has had at least one pooint in 13 of the last 15 games. Jeff Grant assisted on both Surge goals in the win.
The Surge, which is 9-2-0 in its last 11 games, returns home on Sunday to face the Mississippi RiverKings at 5:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The American Heart Association and Whole Health Chiropractic are teaming up to present Red in the Rink, promoting heart healthiness.
