Surf Wash Out Pride; 2-0

(Atlantic City, N.J., June 26, 2008) Atlantic City starting pitcher Brian Rodaway (4-2) led the Surf to a 2-0 victory over Nashua in front of 2,586 fans at Bernie Robbins Stadium, dealing six innings of shut-out work, giving up three hits, one walk and six strike outs, en route to his fourth victory of the season.

The Pride were shut down by a combination of three Surf pitchers. Rodaway, who at one point retired 13 straight hitters, and relievers Kyle George and Derek Duclos. George threw a perfect pair of innings, allowing just one hit and picking up a strike out. Duclos earned his fourth save of the season, second of the series, closing the door on Nashua in the ninth.

Pride starting pitcher Nicolas Suero suffered the tough loss, pitching seven innings, giving up two runs (one earned), on six hits and one walk. Relievers Mike Joyce and Isaac Burkett combined to pitch one scoreless inning for the Pride.

The Nashua Pride will begin their second series of the seven game road trip, when they are entertained by the New Jersey Jackals at Yogi Berra Stadium at 7:05pm on Friday night. The Pride will send Jarrett Stawarz (2-1) to the mound for the start.

The Nashua Pride Professional Baseball Club, entering its 11th season, provides a fun, affordable, community-based and fan-friendly source of sports entertainment. The 2007 Can-Am League Champions will be participating in its third year of play in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball.
