Atlantic City Surf News Release
Atlantic City, N.J. - The Atlantic City Surf have announced that the team's game on Saturday, July 26 against Quebec has been designated "Strike Out Autism Night." Two area autism-related charities, FACES and Autism Speaks, will be selling tickets prior to the game as a fundraiser. In addition, fans will be offered the opportunity to make a donation to the two charities when they buy their tickets at the Bernie Robbins Stadium box office that evening.
"The Surf are excited to partner with Autism Speaks and FACES for this promotion. We're aware of the difficulties that children with autism and their families face, and we're looking forward to help raise money and awareness for these two charities," team president Chris Carminucci said.
Based in Ventnor, N.J., FACES (Families for Autistic Children Education and Support) is a non-profit organization dedicated to education and support of children with autism and their families.
New York City-based Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders, to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism, and to advocating for the needs of affected families.
