ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (May 11, 2003) – Long Island's Kimera Bartee went 3-5 with three RBI to help the Ducks complete its three-game sweep of the Atlantic City Surf, 7-2, Sunday afternoon in front of a Mother's Day crowd of 1,650 at the Sandcastle.

The Ducks scored the first run of the game in the third inning after Sandy DeLeon led off with a single then advanced to third on a balk and an error by starter Dave Carroll. Bartee singled in DeLeon to give Long Island a 1-0 lead.

The Surf countered in the fourth off a Ric Johnson sacrifice fly that plated Vernon Spearman, who singled, to tie the game at 1-1.

Long Island's big inning came in the seventh when an RBI double by Bartee scored Jason Johnson, who led off with a base hit. One-run singles by Elvis Pena, on a suicide squeeze play, and Doug Jennings gave the Ducks a 4-1 advantage.

Ducks southpaw Jason Navarro (1-1) took care of the rest, allowing just two runs through seven solid innings while striking out six and walking zero.

Atlantic City tallied its second run off an RBI double by Raul Marvel in the seventh.

Long Island would tack on three more runs in the final two innings to seal the victory.

Carroll (1-1) allowed four runs through six and one-third innings, striking out four and walking two.

Jennings had three hits and an RBI on the day for Long Island, now 7-3 this year, while Jason Johnson went 3-5 with an RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases.
