Surf Sets Attendance Records in Loss to Ducks

Atlantic City Surf News Release
The Atlantic City Surf lost to the Long Island Ducks 13-4 Thursday night at the Sandcastle, but that wasn't the real story. With the only fireworks show in the city coupled with the publicity of the Mitch Williams hiring, the Surf set a new club attendance record by drawing 6780. That total eclipsed the old mark of 6380 set on July 3, 2000.
The festive holiday throng watched the Ducks score 10 runs in the first inning. Long Island got a grand slam from Dave Gilbralter and five RBIs from Patrick Lennon to get the victory. Mitch Williams, who activated himself before the game, pitched four innings and allowed five hits and one run. Williams was forced to pitch because the Surf roster is depleted at the moment.
The two teams meet again on Friday night with Brian Williams going against Jim Bullinger. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
