CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (June 19, 2003) - The Long Island Ducks beat the Atlantic City Surf 8-2 Wednesday at Citibank Park with 5,847 fans watching.
After Atlantic City scored both their runs in the first inning, the Ducks came back to score eight unanswered runs and totaled 14 hits.
The Duck''s Rusty McNamara went 3-for-5, leading the fourth inning with a solo homer, his second of the year. In the fifth, Derrick Gibson had his fourth home run in his last four games. Jamie Pogue and Elvis Pena each had three hits.
The teams will play at 7:05 p.m., tonight at Citibank Park for the rubber match of the series. For Long Island, RHP Bryan Rekar (3-1) takes the hill, while Atlantic City will counter with RHP Andy Zwirchitz (4-1).
