Suns to Begin 34th Season this Thursday

HAGERSTOWN M.D. - The Hagerstown Suns begin their 34th season this Thursday, April 3, when they welcome the Rome Braves to Municipal Stadium to begin a four-game series. First pitch on Thursday is scheduled for 6:35pm, but the excitement begins when the gates open as the local band "Full Effect" will be providing live music on the concourse.

Magnet schedules will be handed out on Thursday and Friday to the first 1,000 fans through the gate thanks to sponsor Hampton Inn. Thursday is also the first "Thirsty Thursday" of the season, presented by the Tilted Kilt. At each Thursday home game this year fans 21 and over will be able to purchase domestic draft beers such as Bud Light, Coors Light and Yuengling for just $1.00 each. Craft beers on Thursdays will cost just $2.00 each.

Opening night will be the first of many exciting events and promotions to take place at the ballpark during the first home stand of the 2014 season, which runs from Thursday April 3 through Wednesday April 9. On Sunday April 6, the Suns will wrap-up their series against the Braves and after the game children 12 and under are invited to run the bases as part of Sunday Fun Day presented by Dr. Kevin L. Curtis Podiatry.

"Strike out Manik Mondays" are back in 2014, and the first such game will take place on Monday April 7 when the Suns begin a three-game series against the Delmarva Shorebirds. The Suns help you strike out manik Mondays at each Monday home game by offering $1.00 hot dogs, $2.00 drafts, and $3.00 tickets thanks to the Tilted Kilt. Tickets can be bought for just $4.00 for each Tuesday home game this year if fans bring a non-perishable food item to the ticket office.

New this year will be happy hour pricing on 16-ounce cans of select domestic beers prior to every home game. The happy hour pricing will begin as soon as the gates open and will last until the first pitch is thrown.
