PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns (3-4, 32-44) were topped by the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (3-4, 28-47) 2-1 Thursday night from Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

Daniel Wright (W, 4-6) in his start for Pensacola worked seven innings surrendering two hits while walking two and striking out six. Matt Tomshaw (L, 3-5) generated seven innings allowing two runs (both earned) on three hits while walking one and striking out five in the loss for Jacksonville. Zack Weiss (S, 5) earned the save for Pensacola in which he offered up a home run to David Adams but nothing more in the ninth.

The scoring wouldn't begin until the bottom of the seventh after Tomshaw would allowed a one out single to Juan Duran to then offer up a two-run home run to Seth Mejias-Brean (HR, 3) that broke the scoreless tie, and made it a 2-0 ballgame through seven innings of play.

In the top of the ninth, David Adams (HR, 3) sent a solo shot over the left field wall to bring in Jacksonville's only run in a 2-1 loss.

The Suns and Wahoos will play their series finale Friday night at 7:35 p.m. ET from Pensacola Bayfront Stadium. The Suns will send out right-hander Scott Lyman (0-2, 9.00 ERA) while the Wahoos will counter with righty Timothy Adleman (3-6, 2.09 ERA).
