KODAK, Tenn. - The Biscuits (38-36/4-2) stranded ten men on base and went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position in a 4-2 loss to the Tennessee Smokies (43-32/4-2) Thursday night at Smokies Park.

The Biscuits outhit the Smokies 10-7 but could not consistently find the timely hit enough to get over the hump. Montgomery stranded two runners on base in both the second and third innings before cracking the scoreboard with an RBI single in the fourth inning by Leonardo Reginatto. In the seventh inning, Jake Bauers ripped a double to score Justin O'Conner to make it a 4-3 game. Bauers, however, was later stranded on third base as the tying run. In the ninth, Dayron Varona struck out as the potential tying run.

Tennessee tied the game at one with a leadoff home run by Taylor Davis in the fifth. Jacob Hannemann later gave Tennessee the lead with an RBI double in the same inning. Tennessee added insurance with an RBI triple from Wes Darvill in the seventh and a solo home run from Albert Alomra Jr. in the eighth.

The Biscuits and the Smokies will play a double-header on Friday, two-seven inning games, starting at 5:05 CT. RH Austin Pruitt will start game one with RH Jared Mortensen scheduled to throw game two.
