PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - In the first-ever match between the two clubs, the Arizona Sundogs were handed a 6-2 loss to the Laredo Bucks, the Central Hockey League's third-best team. The Sundogs' Dan Laperriere scored early on the power play in the first period but the club was unable to continue the momentum. At 4:54 of the first period, defenseman Dan Laperriere would collect the puck on passes from Brent Kelly and Ryan Steeves and slap the puck past Bucks' netminder Eric Marvin to give the Sundogs an early 1-0 lead. The lead would last almost the entire period as Laredo wouldn't tie the score until the 18:56 mark on a power play goal from Bobby Chaumont with assists coming from Chris Korchinski and Steve Weidlich.

Laredo would own the scoring in the second frame as they would take a 3-1 lead by the period's end. Leo Thomas would grab the Bucks' first goal of the period from Ryan Palmer and Neil Clark at 14:28. Just over four minutes later, Korchinski would tally his second point of the night, this time in the form of a power play goal. Chaumont and Jeff Genovy would be credited with assists.

Just 3:30 into the third period, the Bucks would continue where they left off notching their fourth goal of the game. Serge Dube would push the puck past Arizona netminder Chris King after a pass from Ladislav Kouba and Paul Elliot found its way through the defense. At the 6:58 mark while on the penalty kill, Cory Stillman would give the Sundogs their second goal of the night. Kelly would bag his second assist of the night on the feed to Stillman. The goal would be the last for Arizona as Laredo would find the back of the net two more times by Korchinski (shorthanded) and Olynick to solidify the 6-2 win.

Chris King stopped 39 of 45 shots for Arizona while Eric Marvin stopped 13 of 15 in the win. Laredo dominated Arizona in shots, outshooting the Sundogs 45-15 in the contest. Arizona finished 1-for-11 with the man advantage while Laredo finished 2-for-11. Next up for the Sundogs are the Corpus Christi Rayz tomorrow in Corpus Christi, Texas.
