Sundogs Lose in Sudden Death Overtime, 2-1

Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs lost in sudden death overtime, 2-1 Tuesday night against the Wichita Thunder at Tim's Toyota Center.

The Sundogs held on to a 1-0 lead heading into the final period but it wasn't enough for the win. Arizona's Chad Nehring scored 7:56 into the first period with assists from Ron Meyers and Johan Ryd. Kevin Young broke Wichita's drought six minutes through the third period. Neither team were able to break the tie and forced it into sudden death overtime where Wichita's Erick Lizon scored the game winning goal, propelling the Thunder to a 2-1 win.

23 offenses were issued during the game, beginning when Sebastian Geoffrion and Chad Painchaud dropped gloves.

David Brown took the loss for the Sundogs making 42 saves. Wichita outshot Arizona 44-30. The Sundogs were 0-3 on power play and the Thunder was 0-8 on the power play. The Sundogs host the Wichita Thunder again tomorrow night at Tim's Toyota Center at 6:05pm as the Sundogs look to pick up their first win of the post-season.
