Prescott Valley, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs defeated the Wichita Thunder, 4-3 at Tim's Toyota Center Friday night in front of 3,007 fans.
Arizona trailed the Thunder heading into the first period by one goal. Kevin Young scored 10:57 into the opening frame with a feed from Matt Summers. Five minutes later and Ian Lowe scored Wichita's second goal of the evening with assists from Neil Trimm and Matt Robinson. With 50 seconds remaining in the period Chad Nehring scored his 31 goal of the season putting the Sundogs on the board at 19:50.
The Sundogs picked up the lead in the second period with two consecutive goals within 12 seconds. The first came from Kevin Baker his seventh in six games and Sebastien Geoffrion scored Arizona's third goal. Derek LeBlanc, Brian Bicek, Cody Purves and Mario Larocque all registered assists.
The Thunder equalized the game in the final period with 3:13 remaining in regulation when Summers registered the goal. With 1:03 left in the third period Nehring scored the Sundogs' game winning goal and his second of the night. Zack Firlotte and Karl Linden each tallied an assist.
Adam Russo took the win for the Sundogs making 21 saves. Arizona outshot Wichita 30-24. Arizona was 0-1 on the power play and Wichita was 1-5 on the power play. Arizona hosts the Thunder again tomorrow night in their final meeting of the regular season.
