March 18, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Arizona Sundogs News Release
WICHITA, KS - Two goals in each of the second and third periods combined with Bryan Hogan's 27-save performance highlighted a 4-0, shutout win for the Wichita Thunder over the Arizona Sundogs on Sunday evening at Intrust Bank Arena.
The loss was Arizona's final road game of the 2011-12 season. The Sundogs return home for three to close out the year.
After a scoreless first period, MVP-finalist Matt Robinson put the Thunder on the board 5:51 into the second. Alex Bourret then extended the lead with a shorthanded, breakaway goal midway through the frame off a feed from Kevin Seibel.
RG Flath made it a 3-0 lead for the Thunder at 6:39 of the third when a Sundog turnover left him alone in front of the net. Wichita added a power play goal from Kevin Young to cap the game's scoring.
Hogan's shutout improved his record to 10-1-0 since being traded to the Thunder from Dayton earlier this year.
Rookie Scott Bowles took the loss for Arizona, stopping 26.
Arizona finished 0-for-6 on the power play while Wichita went 1-for-3.
The Sundogs return home for the final three games of the regular season beginning on Wednesday when they host the Allen Americans at Tim's Toyota Center at 7:05 PM. The action can be heard live on Cattle Country 94.3 FM.
