SANDY, Utah (Friday, Nov. 8) - Real Salt Lake will host Major League Soccer Western Conference top seed Portland Timbers in leg one of the Western Conference Championship series THIS Sunday, Nov. 10 at Rio Tinto Stadium. The match will kick at 7:00 p.m. MT and will be broadcast live on ESPN and ESPN Deportes and locally on ESPN 700 AM and 102.3 La Gran D FM/1600 AM.

The Western Conference Championship series will be the first playoff meeting between RSL and Portland, as Real Salt Lake joins Los Angeles and Houston as the only teams with four qualifications for the MLS Conference Championship round in the last six years. Tickets to the first leg of the RSL-Portland Western Conference Championship are now on sale. Fans can purchase tickets to the match - the first home game in RSL's nine-season, 350-game history to be played on a Sunday - at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office, online at www.RealSaltLake.com/Tickets or over the phone at 801-727-2700. Sunday's match is not included in the Real Salt Lake Season Ticket Package.

Real Salt Lake defeated LA Galaxy 2-0 in extra time Thursday night at Rio Tinto Stadium in the Western Conference Semifinals second leg, with MF Sebastian Velasquez providing his first career goal in the 35' and DF Chris Schuler providing what proved to be the series-winner in the 102' to catapult RSL to a 2-1 aggregate win over LA and advance to the Conference Championship. In the other Western Conference Semifinal series, Portland Timbers defeated rival Seattle Sounders FC 3-2 at JELD-WEN Field to win that series 5-3 on aggregate.

RSL went 2-0-2 against Portland in all competitions this season, with a 1-0-2 mark in MLS regular season play. RSL drew the Timbers 3-3 on Aug. 21 in Portland, won 4-2 on Aug. 30 at Rio Tinto Stadium and drew 0-0 on Oct. 19 at JELD-WEN Field. The teams also played in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinal on Aug. 7 at Rio Tinto Stadium, a 2-1 RSL victory. Overall, RSL is 5-1-3 all-time against the Timbers, losing the first-ever meeting on April 30, 2011 - just days after dropping the 2011 CONCACAF Champions League Final - and unbeaten in the last eight contests between the sides.

The Claret-and-Cobalt's six-year run of postseason qualification is the longest active streak in the league and tied for the second-longest such streak in MLS history with the New York Red Bulls (2003-2008), trailing only the New England Revolution's eight-year run (2002-2009).
