Sunday Is Full of Fun

(Newark, N.J., Sept. 11, 2010) - For the last time in 2010, the Newark Bears will entertain their hometown fans at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. Sunday will be full of fun beginning at 11:05 a.m. when the gates swing open.

The Bears have collected some exciting wins at the ballpark this season, including five walk-offs, some great home runs and dynamic plays with a triple-play too. Newark takes on the Camden Riversharks in the Sunday afternoon game with first pitch scheduled for 1:35 p.m. The first 500 fans will be taking home a copy of the 2010 Newark Bears Yearbook. Get to the park early and head down to the field for a pre-game autograph session, presented by PSEG. After the game, fans are invited back to the field to run the bases, during Kids Run the Bases, presented by PSEG. The Bears will also host the final Youth Baseball Clinics prior to Sunday's contest, sponsored by Healthfirst Health Plan of New Jersey. The clinics will run from 11:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. and are open for children ages 8-16 years old.

Prior to the game, Newark will also host its second naturalization ceremony, which will commence at 1:05 p.m. The ceremony includes the administering of the Oath of Allegiance, the petitioners for citizenship reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. flag and recognition of the nations that the new citizens emigrated from will be read aloud.
