Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry News Release

LAWTON, OKLA- The Oklahoma Cavs and the Yakama Sun Kings matched up again for the second game of the series. The Cavs end streak was ended by a 99-88 loss.

The Sun Kings came out to seek revenge for their loss on Sunday night. They outscored the Cavs 31-21 in the first quarter.

Despite the gap in score, the Cavs came back in the second quarter to win the quarter and cut the Sun Kings lead to 5 before the half.

After traditional Native American dance at half time, the Cavs came out of the locker room to cut Yakama's 11 point lead to only 4 points with two huge 3-pointers by Guard DeAnthony Bowden.

The Cavs were able to tie it up in the fourth quarter and gain the lead for a short time. Yakama's Forward Jermaine Blackburn took over in the fourth quarter and helped the Sun Kings take the lead.

Daryan Selvy led the Cavs with 20 points and 9 rebounds, Key and Haywood scored 12 points, Bowden added 16, and Dean had a quiet night with 8 points and 4 assists.

"It was a good game. They didn't beat us. We beat ourselves letting them get too many offensive rebounds," said Head Coach Michael Ray Richardson.

The Cavs next four games will be on the road. They will visit the East Kentucky Miners for a two game series before heading out for a rematch against the Sun Kings. They will be back in the Great Plains Coliseum March 8 and 9 to take on the Albany Patroons.

Tune into Magic 95 for all Cavs away games.
