February 25, 2008 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1) News Release
DARYAN SELVY EARNS CBA NATIONAL CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Second week in a row, third time this season for Oklahoma forward
The Continental Basketball Association is pleased to announce that Oklahoma Cavalry forward Daryan Selvy was named CBA National Conference Player of the Week for the week ending February 24, 2008. This is the third time this season, and the second time in consecutive weeks, that Selvy has won this award; he joins John DeGroat of the Pittsburgh Xplosion as the only players to receive Player of the Week honors in consecutive weeks.
As the Cavalry continue a thirteen-game win streak, Selvy remains their most prolific and consistent scorer. Selvy scored 27 points in a 112-106 road win against Great Falls, then followed that up with 37 points and 10 rebounds in the first of two home games against the Atlanta Krunk; and 23 points and 12 rebounds in a Cavalry victory over the division-leading Yakama Sun Kings on Sunday night.
Other players given consideration for National Conference Player of the Week include Harvey Thomas, Yakama; Andre Owens, Rio Grande Valley; Junior Burrough, Great Falls; Benson Callier, Butte.
TERRANCE HUNTER EARNS CBA AMERICAN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Krunk forward among CBA's top scorers
The Continental Basketball Association is pleased to announce that Atlanta Krunk forward Terrance Hunter is the CBA American Conference Player of the Week for the week ending February 17, 2008. This is the first time Hunter has earned this award, and the second time a member of the Atlanta Krunk has earned this award; teammate Waki Williams earned Player of the Week honors in December 2007.
The 6'7" forward from Delaware State remains one of the league's top scorers, even though the Krunk are mired in last place. In a February 21 contest against the Oklahoma Cavalry, Hunter finished the night with 37 points and 11 rebounds, then followed that up the next night with 44 points to lead his team in scoring. Hunter's 22.4 points per game is fourth-best among all CBA players.
Other players under consideration for the award included Lincoln Glass, Pittsburgh; Steve Thomas, East Kentucky; and Nat Burton, Albany.

Albany Patroons (19-19, 131.0 QP, 3.45 AVG, 4th place, American Conference)
For years, the Yakama Sun Kings have been the Albany Patroons' nemesis. In a rivalry that dates back to a four-overtime Sun Kings victory in the 1991-92 season, the Sun Kings have stopped Albany in both the 2005 CBA playoffs and the 2007 CBA championship finals. In a home game against the Sun Kings at the Armory, the Patroons once again came up short, losing 115-94 [6-1]. Nat Burton finished with 26 points, while Ian Young had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Lucious Jordan and Jason "J-Bird" Williams scored 16 points apiece. Things got worse on Friday night, as the Sun Kings decimated Albany 121-88 [7-0]. Nat Burton scored 33 points and twelve rebounds for the Patroons, leading Albany in both categories. Lucious Jordan followed that up with 19 points of his own. A Sunday contest in Great Falls was postponed.

Terrance Hunter finished the night with 37 points and 11 rebounds, while Waki Williams added 27 points and Bilel Simmons put up 23. In the rematch against the Cavalry, the Krunk were clobbered 135-100 [7-0], even as Terrance Hunter hit 44 points to lead all Krunkers in scoring.
