Sugar Land Drops Game 3 in Extra Innings

(York, P.A., September 26, 2014) - The Sugar Land Skeeters fell to the York Revolution 3-2 after a walk off single by York's Johan Limonta in the 10th inning on Friday night. The Skeeters must win the next two games against the Revolution in order to advance to the Championship Series.

Steve Hammond was the starting pitcher for Sugar Land and threw 6.0 innings. The lefty allowed one run on four hits and collected eight strikeouts.

In the top of the third, Ryan Langerhans singled to right field and then stole second to advance. Delwyn Young doubled to second and Langerhans scored the first run of the game. After a single by Travis Scott, Young scored the Skeeters second and final run.

After Hammond allowed the Revolution's first run, Andrew Johnston stepped in to pitch the seventh and did not allow a run during his time on the mound. Gary Majewski then pitched 0.2 innings and allowed one run to tie-up the game and send the teams into extra innings. Roy Corcoran tossed 1.2 innings and gave up the final run in the tenth, taking the loss.

POSTSEASON PLAY:

Sugar Land continues the series against York on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CT. at Santander Stadium. Sean Gallagher (3-4, 4.98 ERA) takes the hill opposite Logan Williamson (6-7, 2.71 ERA).
