Style move forward quickly

September 9, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
El Paso S'ol News Release

Santa Fe, NM. The ABA New Mexico Style professional basketball team scheduled to begin play in November will be holding a tryout camp on September 17th in Santa Fe. Up to 5 participants from the tryout will be invited to attend the Style Veterans Camp on October 23rd. The tryout will be held from 9am-3pm at Genoveva Chavez Community Center. The cost is $75 per player at the door, cash only at the door. For more information, please call 720 941 0350 or email newmexicostylebb@yahoo.com. Or visit www.abalive.com.

In other news, the team has also announced a New Mexico Style Logo Contest. The goal of the team is to provide true basketball fans and observers a high quality basketball product. The team will soon be adding personnel, sending out memos, printing business cards, etc. It needs a piece of a strong identity - a new logo. We're looking for a creative approach to New Mexico Style basketball and that's where you come in. The logo should include "New Mexico Style" somewhere in the logo, should be an original design - and incorporate the ABA basketball. See other ABA team logos for usage. Simply create your design and send it to newmexicostylebb@yahoo.com by October 1st. Winner will be announced October 8th. The winner will receive a $250 cash prize, 2 season tickets, a free t-shirt with their logo, featured BIO WebPage promoting their services, and some surprize prizes. Attn: Santa Fe Ad Agencies - this is your chance to show your creativity - and while you're at it - try designing a mascot too - same prizes. Good luck all. For more information, visit www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
