Santa Fe, NM. "How about some Shoe String Support for the Troops," said ABA New Mexico Style owner Tree Adams. "Before you lace them up for another game, before you walk onto another court to showcase your talent, think about this. Many kids do not understand the sacrifice our troops are making overseas. Most of us either have family members or relatives overseas serving our country. So this summer, I would like to ask all the hoopers throughout the country to wear a kelly green shoe string in one of their shoes to signify their support of our troops overseas."

"As a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, I always try to sit down with my kids and educate them on why it is important to support our troops overseas. Whether we agree or disagree on the purpose, many have made sacrifices so that we can have the freedoms we have here in America. So, this summer I would like to show our support to the troops by displaying a kelly green shoe string in one shoe," added Adams. "College coaches, referees, players, scouting agencies, tournament directors, scouts and parents of the players are asked to joiin in on the initiative this summer while teams are traveling around the country to be seen by recruiters and fans. Also, tournament directors; if you could put some information in your packet to let other players know, it would be appreciated." (The ABA fully supports this program and congratulates Coach Adams for a great idea).
