
Strykers Double up Generals 14-7

Victoria Generals News Release
The Victoria Generals traveled to The Woodlands on Wednesday night to start a four-game road trip and were defeated by the Strykers 14-7.
Generals starting pitcher Tyler Schnuriger took the loss as he was roughed up by the the Strykers offense, giving up six runs on five hits with three walks through five plus innings. The first three runs came on solo home runs by Carter Burgess, Michael Aquino, and Dan Perkins.
The Generals first run of the game came in the sixth inning on an error by the Strykers second baseman to score Alex Klonowski, making the score 3-1.
The Strykers then blew the game open in the bottom of the sixth as they scored 10 runs in the frame with the help of two walks and two errors by the Generals. Aquino highlighted the inning with his second home run of the game, a three-run shot.
The Generals loaded the bases in the seventh before Blue Hybner walked to score a run and make it a 13-2 ballgame.
The Strykers got the run back in the bottom of the frame on another Generals error.
The Generals then tried to make it a ballgame, scoring five runs in the eighth inning to make the score 14-7. Carter Mangum singled home Trent Wagner who had walked to lead off the inning. Brandon Tierney came around to score on an RBI single by Eric Weiss. Jude Vidrine then ripped his fourth home run of the season, a three run blast to right field.
With the win, the Strykers improved to 10-25 on the season as the Generals fell to 24-12.
The two teams will meet again for game two of the series on Thursday night in The Woodlands at 7:05pm.
