Tri-City Dust Devils News Release
The Tri-City Dust Devils (5-9, 24-28) could not capitalize after an impressive start from Eric Lauer as the team dropped the series finale 2-0 to the Spokane Indians (8-6, 27-25). Lauer, the 25th overall pick of this year's MLB Draft, tossed four scoreless innings and had seven strikeouts.
Kyle Overstreet delivered at the plate for the Dust Devils. Overstreet had three hits, including a double, which was the team's only extra base hit of the night. Spokane hurlers Sal Mendez and Tyler Stubblefield combined to throw the fifth shutout of the season against Tri-City.
Reliever Adrian De Horta suffered the loss after allowing two runs in 3.2 innings of work. The Dust Devils will now head to Boise to begin an eight-game road trip. The team will play five against the Hawks followed by a three-game series in Everett.
Left-hander Joey Lucchesi will start the series opener in Boise on Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. from Memorial Stadium. Tri-City will return home on August 20th to begin a five-game homestand. There will be a postgame fireworks show presented by Pizza Hut after the team's first game back at Gesa Stadium. It will also be Scout Night sponsored by Big 5 Sporting Goods. Great seats are available by calling the Dust Devils' front office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
