Strikers Potential Fourth-Round Pairings in 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Announced

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 23, 2012) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers would travel to face either Real Salt Lake from MLS or the Minnesota Stars based on the possible fourth-round pairings and locations for the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup announced by U.S. Soccer today. The fourth round match is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 5th.

The live radio broadcast of the Strikers third round match against the San Jose Earthquakes will be streamed online and available on the Strikers' web site www.strikers.com. The game is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 29th at 10:30p.m. ET.

The 99th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup includes a random selection process for determining home teams from the first round through the quarterfinals among clubs who have applied to host. The process, conducted by a coin flip, gives participating teams with venues meeting tournament standards an equal chance at hosting their possible opponent for these rounds.

The match between Real Salt Lake and Minnesota Stars FC will take place on Tuesday, May 29th at 9:00p.m. ET. The Strikers will travel to the winners' home stadium should they defeat the San Jose Earthquakes in their third round match.
