Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Sportsradio 560 WQAM today announced the return of popular Strikers radio show "Strikers Extra Time." Orlando "The Big O" Alzugaray returns as the show's host for the 2016 season in a new, pregame format.
Broadcast live from Lockhart Stadium, the show will be presented in its new hour-long format every home match day. As always, Bio O will provide insight into the happenings of the club, and the show will feature interviews and live appearances from current Strikers players and club icons.
"I'm really looking forward to hosting season two of Strikers Extra Time," said Alzugaray, who has also has been serving as the Strikers in-stadium Public Address announcer since 2011. "This year we get to broadcast live from historical Lockhart Stadium hours prior to every home game. This gives Strikers fans on the radio a chance to get to know the team, coaches and opponents. Meanwhile the program gets to be a part of the Strikers incredible pre-game atmosphere creating the perfect appetizer before each home match."
This Saturday, listeners will be treated to news and stories from the preseason, covering players, coaches, new signings, the new INARIA kit and everything Red & Gold, providing those tuning in with an insightful preview of the upcoming match and their opponent.
