Ottawa Fury FC News Release
OTTAWA, ON - It's been 140 days since Ottawa Fury FC's last match. 140 days since the second-year club took on the New York Cosmos on the league's biggest stage - the NASL Championship Final. The wait is finally over. Once again, Fury FC takes on the Cosmos at James M. Shuart Stadium, this time to open their 2016 season as Ottawa begins its quest to take last season's success one step further.
Fury FC head into Sunday's game with plenty of confidence and chomping at the bit to get the 2016 season underway. Paul Dalglish - who was named the second coach in Fury history in November- has been pleased with what he's seen from his squad so far, with the club going undefeated in pre-season action with an impressive 5W-2D-0L record.
"We can't be more confident," said Dalglish ahead of Sunday's game. "We are really pleased with where we are at, but we have to constantly keep improving. I am an aggressive coach; I always try to go into games to win them. We don't really care if it's a home or an away game, we just want to win every game this season and I feel like we have the players to do that."
Once again, the stage is set for an epic battle between two rivals determined to start the 2016 NASL campaign on the right track.
