Seattle Storm News Release
This Week's Opponents
Minnesota: Seattle will look for its first-ever sweep of Minnesota when the Storm visit the Lynx for the final time this season. Seattle won the previous two meetings this summer to pull even at 11 games apiece in the all-time series. The most recent meeting, a 92-75 Storm home victory on July 1, provided the largest margin of victory for either team in the all-time series. Sue Bird handed out a franchise-record 14 assists in the win.
Washington: The Storm can avenge last year's home loss to the Mystics and sweep the season series with a win this Thursday at KeyArena. Last season, Washington spoiled the Storm's Kids Day celebration as the Mystics shot a scorching 58.8 percent from the field and held on for a 78-71 win. The Storm responded with a 73-71 win in Washington last week on July 23 as Iziane Castro Marques spurred a late 8-4 run that pushed the Storm in front for good. Seattle trails 6-4 in the all-time series.
Charlotte: The Storm have never lost consecutive games to the Sting and will need a win this week to keep the streak alive after falling 86-72 in Charlotte on July 20. Janell Burse left that game after just two minutes of action with a shoulder injury and Seattle was unable to slow former Storm player Sheri Sam who scored a game-high 23 points. The Storm hold an 8-3 lead all-time and are a perfect 5-0 against the Sting at KeyArena.
