Chicago Storm News Release
MELROSE PARK, IL - Saturday, October 20th, at 7pm the Chicago Storm plays their annual Yellow and Black inter-squad game on Soccer City's brand new artificial polyethylene indoor soccer turf (SOF-STEP-200). The Yellow and Black game is the teams' last tune up before the season opener on October 27th versus the California Cougars at the Sears Centre. The match pits Storm players versus fellow teammates and hopefuls; it is open to the public and begins after the conclusion of the Inverness Soccer Club Tournament which runs from 8am-6pm. Soccer City is located at 545 Consumers Ave. in Palatine.
Chicago Storm Head Coach Steve Morris talked about the importance of the Yellow and Black game. "It's our last dress rehearsal before our first match. It's a chance for us to get a last look at those that are trying to make the team and a chance for us to solidify our line combinations and roster," said Morris.
"The opportunity to play at Soccer City, which has long been a hot bead of indoor soccer in Chicago, gives us a great visual to play in front of one of the best areas and facility for the sport." Morris continued, "It's also an opportunity to play on their new field turf, which is top of the line. Between the Storm and the Inverness Soccer Clubs' Tournament it should be a great soccer weekend."
Soccer City has installed the polyethylene indoor soccer turf (SOF-STEP-200). It provides to all soccer players an ultimate indoor surface that considerably reduces the shock to the joints and ankles, protecting participants from sports injuries. In addition, the new soccer turf will continue promoting a safer, more enjoyable and competitive environment for all soccer enthusiasts.
