Storm to Face Tough Colorado Team

The Sioux Falls Storm (12-0) returns from a three-game road trip to the Sioux Falls Arena on Saturday, June 9 at 7 p.m. as it takes on a hot Colorado Ice (8-5) squad. Colorado has won three of its past four games and its only loss came in a 52-49 defeat last week to Tri-Cities Fever. Lloyd Companies is the proud sponsor of the game and Breast Cancer Awareness Night.

The Storm is coming off a 71-46 victory over the Wyoming Cavalry, in which quarterback Chris Dixon rushed for 80 yards and five touchdowns while throwing for 135 yards and three scores. Running back Korey Williams also added two touchdowns on 57 yards rushing. Carl Sims led all receivers with five receptions for 68 yards and one score. Clinton Solomon and James Terry had the other two receiving touchdowns. Defensively, Rachman Crable had a sack, a tackle for loss and five tackles overall (four solo). Stewart Franks added seven tackles as well (five solo). Dejuan Fulghum continues to lead the team in tackles after he nabbed 10 last week. He has 89 tackles this season. Franks and Jermiah Price are tied for second with 59 each. The win clinched the top seed in the Indoor Football League for the Storm.

The Ice average 50.4 offensive points per week and lost last week on an overtime field goal. Quarterback Jeremy Sanders, who threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, leads the Ice. Sanders also rushed for 53 yards and one score in the game. Tobias Robinson added two scores on the ground assault. On the receiving end, Duane Brooks had seven receptions for 56 yards and Mark Henderson had two catches for two touchdowns and 39 yards. Defensively, Corey Sample had eight tackles (three solo) and CJ Lovett added seven (three solo).

The Storm is at home next week for its regular season finale against the Omaha Beef on June 16 at 7 p.m.
