June 20, 2007 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The "Kurtiss Riggs Show" will hit the airwaves again TONIGHT with a show focused on a couple of Storm offensive rookies. The show airs EVERY Wednesday from 5:30 PM-6:45 PM on AM 1230 KWSN as well as www.kwsn.com. Tonight's show will feature Storm running back Sean Treasure and offensive lineman Phil Kooistra. Both players are in their first season of indoor football.

Storm Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs and "The Voice of the Storm" Rich Roste will review last Saturday's 56-20 victory over the Ohio Valley Greyhounds. With the win, the Storm clinched the #1 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. Riggs and Roste will also preview this Saturday's game vs. the Lexington Horsemen. With a win on Saturday, Sioux Falls will clinch home field advantage throughout the UIF Playoffs and will host United Bowl III if the team should advance that far.

Treasure has seen playing time in four games this season. He has compiled 83 yards rushing, which ranks third on the team. Treasure cemented himself as one of the greatest running backs in Minnesota State-Mankato history. With only two seasons of play, Treasure finished 9th in career rushing yards (1,944) and 8th in career all purpose yards (3,196) in team history. Treasure became the first Maverick junior to be recognized in the balloting of the Harlon Hill Award, given to the top football player at the Division II level. Treasure was an All-North Central Conference and Division II All-American selection in 2004 and 2005.

Kooistra has been called to duty this season by helping the Storm get through the injury to Paul Keizer. Kooistra anchored the Northwestern University (IA) offensive line from 2003 to 2006. Kooistra began receiving accolades in 2005 as a junior when he was elected to the first All-Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) team and voted Northwestern offensive line MVP. Kooistra's outstanding season in 2006 netted him All-GPAC First team, Don Hansen's Football Gazette NAIA West All-Region First team, and Second team NAIA All-American.

The Storm will return home on Saturday, June 30th and will clash with the Colorado Ice. The game is presented by Orthopedic Institute. Individual tickets can be obtained by visiting the Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet, calling Ticketmaster at 334-8181, or purchasing from ticketmaster.com. Join "The Biggest Show in Town" as the Storm look for three championships in a row in 2007.
