Rock River Raptors News Release

The Rock River Raptors of the United Indoor Football (UIF) league have announced today that wide receiver Ronnie Elliot has been awarded Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts against the Bloomington Extreme in Week 13.

Elliot hasn't gotten much playing time this year, but proved how valuable of a player he is against the Extreme. The speedy wide receiver from Duke University was able to return five kickoffs for a total of 83 yards and had seven catches for 38 yards and one touchdown to help Rock River to a one point victory over Bloomington.

This is the second week in a row that a Raptor has been named Special Teams Player of the Week. Last week against the Evansville Bluecats, kicker Doug Daniel was perfect on field goal attempts, going 7-for-7 to break the UIF record for field goals in a game.

With the win over Bloomington, Rock River put themselves in control of the Eastern Conference. They are in sole possession of first place with a record of 8-4 and have already clinched a playoff berth.

Single game and playoff tickets for the Raptors are on sale now at the Metro Centre box office, by phone at 815-968-5222 or online at http://www.centreevents.com.
