Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm (9-0) will take on the Green Bay Blizzard (7-2) in a United Conference matchup of two of the top teams in the Indoor Football League (IFL) this Sunday at 2:05pm. Waterbury/Coleman is the proud sponsor of the game.
Last week, the Storm defeated the Bloomington Extreme 60-28 in a highly anticipated matchup of the top two teams of the IFL. The offensive line had an outstanding night, allowing no sacks against the league's top defense. In the game, quarterback Chris Dixon threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 41 yards and two touchdowns. James Jones led the team in rushing yards with 68 (he also added one score). On the receiving end, Carl Sims, who will join the Canadian Football League on June 1, scored on all three receptions. For the Storm defense, Donta Moore added two interceptions (league-leading eight total), to an already impressive season, while Brian McIntire had 11 tackles, and Tommy Chavis added another sack to his season total of 4.5.
The Green Bay Blizzard come to town after a 44-21 victory over the LaCrosse Spartans. In the game, Willie Copeland threw for 105 yards and four touchdowns, as well as two interceptions. Chris Bell led the team with five receptions, though Agim Shabaj scored twice on the receiving end. For the defense, Greg Jackson led the team with 13 tackles (one for loss), and James McClinton, Jeremiah Price and Aaron Bryant each added one sack.
"Green Bay is as good of talented team as there is in the IFL," said Storm Owner, Todd Tryon. "We will need to play at the top of our game to compete with their talent. This game should be a great challenge for us."
