Wichita Wild News Release

The Wichita Wild will play in front of a home crowd for the first time since April 16 when the Omaha Beef visit Hartman Arena on Saturday night. The Wild went 2-1 on their road trip and find themselves at 3-6 and with new life in the hunt for a playoff berth. The Beef are 5-4 and currently hold the final playoff spot. With a win, Wichita would be only one game behind Omaha with four games to play. Kickoff for the game is set for 7:05 pm.

The Wild is a new team since the teams met earlier in the season when Omaha defeated Wichita by a score of 36-24 on April 9. Wichita is 3-1 since that game while Omaha is 2-2. In two games, Wild QB Phil Staback is 49-of-62 passing for 431 yards and six touchdowns. The Wild defense has been dominating in the last two weeks allowing only 32 total points.

Omaha lost to the Seattle Timberwolves in a 52-50 thriller last week. Beef QB James McNear has passed for 1,296 yards and 20 TD's in seven games this season. The Beef are scoring an average of 41.1 points per game which ranks 13th in the IFL and their defense is allowing an average of 36.8 points per game which is 8th in the league.
