(Summerside, PE) The Number 1 and 2 teams in the NBL squared off at Credit Union Place in Summerside Thursday night and Number 2 prevailed as the Summerside STORM handled the London Lightning 116-97 in front of 1,353 on the coldest night of the year on Prince Edward Island.
Brandon Robinson had a big night for the winners with 36 points and 12 rebounds. Omari Johnson added 24 points and 10 rebounds while Greg Plummer scored 22 points. Tim Ellis led the London attack with 25.
The STORM are back on the court Friday night at 7 when their division rivals, the Halifax Rainmen, visit Credit Union Place. The Box Office opens at 9am Friday morning or Fans can purchase tickets online at stormbasketball.ca.
Travis Wakelin of Winslow won the 50/50 draw taking home half the total pot of $2,315.00. Jaden MacLean won the new Clarks Toyota Cash Shoot to Win by taking home $50. Wayne Stewart was the winner of the Fly PEI/Travel Store Shoot to Win and has his name entered in the draw for a trip for two to the Dominican Republic which will be drawn for during Friday night's game. Pauline Poirier won the Wilsons Fuels Car Wash Prize while everyone in the building can take their game ticket to Wilsons Fuels tomorrow for a free car wash as the STORM were winners.
Also, fans in Section V can take their ticket to Greco in Summerside on Monday before 4pm and get a free slice of pizza because the STORM won and went over 100 points.
