
Storm In Forecast For Cobras On Friday

CHARLOTTE Â The Carolina Cobras of the Arena Football League open a two-game homestand this Friday night when they host the Tampa Bay Storm at the Charlotte Coliseum at 7:30 p.m.
The Cobras are playing their first game at home since losing a 47-43 thriller to the Dallas Desperados on March 21. The Storm, who lead the AFL's Southern Division with an 8-2 record, handed the Cobras a 60-20 loss in the season opener at Tampa Bay on January 31.
The Cobras are offering free giveaways and numerous promotions to further intensify the game experience. The first 7,500 fans that enter the arena will receive a pair of ThunderStix and the first 5,000 fans will receive a Cheer Card courtesy of ADT. On the concourse before the game, fans can have a picture taken with their favorite Snake Charmer on a Harley-Davidson in exchange for a $10 donation to Special Olympics or a toy donation to Toys For Tots. Select Cobras players will also be signing autographs on the concourse from 6:30Â7:15 p.m.
At halftime, fans will be treated to a performance by the K-9s In Flight frisbee dog team. Having competed in six world championships, these popular pooches have dazzled audiences all across America.
As always, the Cobras wrap up the total AFL game experience with a postgame autograph session. Fans are welcome to come down to the sidelines to meet the players and Snake Charmers and get free autographs immediately following each home game.
Tickets for Friday's game and all remaining home games can be purchased at the Charlotte Coliseum box office, at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 704-522-6500. Single-game tickets for all 2003 home games are available in the following prices: $8 (lower level end zones), $15 (lower level corners), $25 (lower level sideline) and $50 (lower level sideline).

* Cobras OS Bernard Holmes has recorded 200 or more all-purpose yards in each of his last seven games played. He has already tied the franchise record with five games of 100 or more yards receiving.
* Cobras QB Stewart Patridge posted franchise records of 30 completions and 46 pass attempts last week against Los Angeles, throwing for 287 yards and six touchdowns.
* Tampa Bay has won seven straight games.
* Tampa Bay QB John Kaleo is fifth in the AFL with 256.1 passing yards per game.
* Former NFL wide receiver Freddie Solomon leads the Storm with 63 receptions for 934 yards and 16 touchdowns.
