Chicago Rush News Release

April 8, 2003 – Chicago Rush lineman John Moyer was named this week's Arena Football League ADT Defensive Player of the Week, the AFL announced today.

Moyer had one of the best games of his career in Friday's 62-45 Rush win in Detroit, recording four tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles and his first career interception.

"Moyer's performance Friday was a big reason we won the game," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "But last week wasn't the first time he has done this. John has been one of our most consistent players all year. We have come to expect this type of performance from him and so far and he hasn't disappointed."

Moyer, a 2002 second-team all-Arena selection, currently ranks second in the AFL with six sacks and leads all Rush linemen in sacks, solo tackles, passes defended and fumbles forced.

This week the Chicago Rush (4-6) completes its three-game road trip when it travels to Denver to take on John Elway's Colorado Crush (1-9) Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m. The game can be seen locally on NBC 5 and will include the exclusive network-television debut of the studio trailer for the much-anticipated feature film "The Matrix Reloaded." NBC will air the trailer in its entirety (2-1/2 minutes) during the second half of this Sunday's Rush game.

The Rush returns home to Allstate Arena Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m. to host the Dallas Desperados. Fans wishing to purchase individual game tickets to the Dallas game, or any Rush regular season home game, may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212 or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also may be purchased in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Allstate Arena box office.
