Lake Elsinore Storm News Release

Lancaster - After a rain out early in the season, the Storm and the Lancaster JetHawks played a double-header and both teams looking to make up ground against fist place High Desert. It was the home team who were victorious twice on Friday winning the first game 7-2 and then coming back to win the second game 5-3.

In game one the JetHawks took an early lead and never looked back. In the third they scored three unanswered runs when Domingo Santiago hit his third triple of the season with two on to take the lead.

The Storm cut the lead to only one in the fifth as Eddy Rodriguez homered to lead off the inning and Cory Spangenberg singled later in the inning to score Chris Bisson now with the Storm only down 2-3.

But the home team score three more runs in the sixth off of back-to-back doubles by Ben Heath and Meyer and a home run by George Springer giving the JetHawks the 7-2 win in a seven inning game.

In game two the JetHawks scored in the first four innings highlighted by two home runs by George Springer, one in the third and one in the fourth to collect his seventh and eighth of the season.

The Storm looked to rally scoring in the fifth off a Spangenberg single up the middle and a leadoff home run by Connor Powers in the top of the sixth but time was not on the side of the Storm as the game came to a close.

The Storm will play one more in Lancaster before returning home on Mother's Day to take on the Inland Empire 66ers at 2:05 p.m. Bring mom out early for our Mothers Day Champagne Brunch beginning at 11 a.m. For $32 you can enjoy an all-you-can-eat brunch and stay for the game afterwards.
